Programme Description

Internship or Volunteer work with NZ companies, combined with classroom study at Crown.

Programme History                                                        

The programme has been running at Crown since August 2016.
As of 1 July 2017, more than 30 students have successfully completed it.
100% of the students rated the programme as “Excellent” or “Very Good”.

Programme Length

4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 weeks. Minimum 4 weeks, maximum 12 weeks.

Programme format

3 days per week Internship / Volunteer work (usually Mon, Tue and Wed).
2 days per week study at Crown (usually Thu and Fri).

Sample Weekly Timetable

Mon, Tue, Wed:         Working as Intern or Volunteer (5-8 hours each day)
Thu, Fri:                     Studying at CROWN (5 hours each day: 9:00 - 3:15 pm)

Internships and Volunteer Work

These are organised by Crown or our Intern partner company.
Placements are made in or close to Auckland city.
Interns and volunteers are not paid, and receive no financial benefits or subsidies (accommodation, food etc.).

Crown Courses

Crown courses are in two week modules, except English language (2-12 weeks) and activities (2 or 4 weeks).
Courses may be mixed and matched for a total of 4-12 weeks.

Graduation

Students receive a Certificate of Internship / Volunteer from their Intern company.
Students receive a Crown graduation certificate on completion.

Visa requirements

Students on a Working Holiday Visa, Work Visa or Visitor Visa may apply.

English entry level

Crown L4 (Pre-Intermediate), or … TOEIC: 400+, Cambridge: PET, IELTS: 4.0+, CEFR: A2+
A 30 minute test is available for borderline students (including phone or Skype interview).

Fees

The following include all of your tuition, intern, volunteer and resource fees:

1) A registration fee of NZD 400, paid at the time you enrol. This fee is non-refundable.
2) A Tuition / Intern / Volunteer fee of NZD 450 per week of your programme
3) A resource fee of NZD 60 per week of your programme
4) Other fees may apply for accommodation, airport transfers and insurance.

Enrolment requirements

a) Completed Crown Enrolment Form
b) Registration Fee (NZD 400), or Full Fee payment
c) Cover letter, CV and photo, including education, work experience and preferred industry
d) English Level (min L4) - verified by written test and phone or Skype interview
e) The above needs to be received by Crown a minimum 8 weeks before the start date

Cancellation

The Registration Fee is not refundable. All other fees are refundable if the programme is cancelled before the student arrives in New Zealand, or if a visa is not granted to travel to New Zealand.

If the programme is cancelled after the student arrives in New Zealand, or during the first two weeks of the programme, a cancellation fee of 10% of tuition fees will apply. If the programme is cancelled after the first two weeks, no fees are refunded.
