Industry Expo
We were proud to boost fourteen great industry representatives for our bi-annual Industry Expo for the travel and hospitality department.
Contiki, Mike Henry, STA Travel, ATTTO, Nomads, Function Staff, Accor Hotels, Showcase Hospitality, SkyCity Careers, Hospitality Standards Institute, Careers Services and Quinn Recruitment. Absent from the day due to illness- Menzies Aviation, Crowne Plaza.
Our food and beverage students hosted representatives on our roof top student lounge. During the day they experienced top quality espresso coffees, finger foods – such as mini savory scones, traditional club sandwiches and chocolate brownies.
From three hours students had the opportunity to discuss job roles available in the industry and were given tips on how to stand out. Some of the tips – ‘know why you want to work for a particular company and why you want to get into a particular job role is vital to your success.’ Many students were asked for CV’s and learnt the dying art of networking.
The Food and Beverage students were the highlight of the day displaying amazingly professional skills and attitudes. On the basis of this service representatives received they want to come back….. again and again!
