New Zealand Certificate in Tourism Level 3

This entry-level course is designed for students with minimal or no prior experience in the industry. It gives you an overview of the knowledge and skills required to work in this field. The class visits local hotels and tourist attractions such as Kelly Tarltons, Auckland Museum, and the Sky Tower. In addition, seminars by industry leaders, educational trips to popular tourist destinations like Rotorua or Coromandel will provide exposure to the industry, these will all contribute to 30 hours of ‘Real World Experience’, a core part of the course that all students need to complete in order to graduate. This course will give you relevant knowledge and prepare you for employment upon graduation.  The course consists of 4 modules, which cover:  Customer service and communication  Workplace practices (Team work, time management and legislation)  New Zealand tourism destinations  New Zealand tourism industry  Students are assessed through a mixture of written assessments, presentations and practical role plays.  All our courses are eligible for Fees Free study. Please click HERE check your eligibility.

Graduates of this qualification will have the skills and knowledge to work in a variety of entry level roles within the Tourism and Travel sector. They will recognise the importance of customer service skills and communication within the travel and tourism industry. Graduates will be able to apply knowledge of major New Zealand tourism destinations and recognise the importance of the travel and tourism industries to the New Zealand economy.

Along with the New Zealand Certificate in Tourism level 3 modules, this course includes:

Study & Work programme (paid work experience)
Variety of field trips and guest speakers throughout the course

Special circumstances, at the discretion of the Academic Head. You will need to demonstrate excellent results is a similar subject, or practical experience that is relevant to Travel and Tourism. 

You must be aged 18 years or older when you start the course.
