Course summary

Graduates of this qualification will have the skills and knowledge to work in a variety of entry level roles within the Tourism and Travel sector. They will recognise the importance of customer service skills and communication within the travel and tourism industry. Graduates will be able to apply knowledge of major New Zealand tourism destinations and recognise the importance of the travel and tourism industries to the New Zealand economy.

Along with the New Zealand Certificate in Tourism level 3 modules, this course includes:
Crown Institute Cabin Crew module
Study & Work programme (paid work experience)
Overnight trip to a New Zealand destination (for 2019 this will probably be Queenstown)
Variety of field trips and guest speakers throughout the course
Overseas trip to a South Pacific Island (additional cost) - only available for students starting their course in February & April

11 Feb – 5 Jul 2019, 18 Mar - 16 Aug, 29 Apr – 20 Sep 2019, 15 Jul – 6 Dec 2019, 30 Sep 2019 – 17 Apr 2020

Course times 20 hours per week from 9.00am - 1.00pm or 1.30-5.30pm
Domestic entry requirements You should be 16 years of age or over on the date you start your course.  You must have NCEA level 2 or equivalent or sit the Crown entry test and attend a personal interview.
International student entry requirements IELTS 5.0 with no band lower than 5, or TOEFL pBT 510 with an essay score of 4.5 TWE, or TOEFL iBT 64 with a writing score of 20 or Crown entry test.
