New Zealand Certificate in Advanced Food and Beverage Service Level 4 (Currently Under Consideration For Approval By NZQA)

This course is designed for students who want to take their hospitality careers to the next level. The programme is designed so that hospitality workers have the skills and knowledge to become supervisors, duty managers or senior staff. You will learn about advanced hospitality service, including food, beverages and planning large functions. We include both practical elements and customer service skills, enabling you to develop to confidence and maturity needed for these roles.  

This course consists of 4 modules, which cover: 

  • New Zealand Hospitality Operations (identifying guest needs and co-ordinating service) 

  • Beverage service 

  • Function Service 

  • Restaurant service 

Assessment is through a combination of written assessments, practical tasks and presentations.

Course summary This course will lead to developing advanced skills for working in a restaurant and a range of other hospitality environments; learn everything from kitchen and food management to leading a team and waiting skills. This will assist graduates with improved opportunities by enhancing the probabilities for viability, survival and growth for operators within the hospitality industry.

Domestic entry requirements You should be 16 years of age or over on the date you start your course.  You must attend a personal interview and meet all eligibility criteria (please contact us for details).
